Neve Michael (Oasis of Michael), is not an institution. It is a residential home for children at risk – a warm and caring environment for over 300 children aged three to eighteen who cannot stay with their biological families. At Neve Michael, our children can grow, learn, and enjoy better, happier and healthier lives.
Established in 1943 and located in Pardes Hanna, Israel, Neve Michael Children’s Village is a 7-acre campus which is a safe haven for children 5 to 18 years of age who have been removed from their homes by Israel’s Welfare Department due to extreme traumatic circumstances such as family dysfunction or neglect, violence in the home or mental, physical and/or sexual abuse.
It is the only multi-disciplinary children’s home in Israel to offer a wide range of professional services on one site, such as psychiatry, psychology, occupational therapy, social work, conventional and para-medical therapies and education.
DONATE TO NEVE MICHAEL HERE.
The doors to the 24-Hour Children’s Emergency Crisis Center opened in August 2000 with the assistance of the JDC, and recent much needed improvements through private donors including Beth Yeshua International.
Children from all over Israel, who need to be removed immediately from their home and surroundings, are referred to Neve Michael through the Welfare Department and arrive at the Emergency Crisis Center, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Despite major government budget cuts, Hava Levene, and the devoted Neve Michael team, works continuously to treat the children. These children are in constant need of professional therapy and diagnostic testing.
The objective is to help these children break the vicious cycle of distress. Each child responds differently to the various treatments available. Therefore, the support team members try to find the best way to reach into the children's souls.
Most children who arrive at the Emergency Crisis Center cannot return home. They are there through holidays and summer vacations. The Team at Neve Michael strives to make an immense difference in the lives of these children. They cannot change the hurtful past for these children. But, together, we can promise to give them a better future.
It began in 2006 with an email from Samuel K., a minister in India. His email stated, “My name is Samuel Krupanand, and I have a small ministry in my village. I am Jewish and I need help.” With so many emails coming in from different people asking for financial support, the temptation was to delete it. But, the Spirit of God said, “Do not delete this email.” After some time in prayer, Rabbi Greg heard God say that he should send Samuel 100 bibles in his native language.
He wrote back and simply said, “My name is Greg Hershberg, and I want to help. What do you need?” He received an email back immediately saying, “I need 100 bibles in Telegu, my language.” As Rabbi recalls, "I know God was all over it, so I got all over it!" After further conversations with Samuel, we decided that the best way to proceed was to send money to him to purchase the bibles. With that, CBY India was birthed.
Since then we have been continually humbled by the believers in India, and by their overwhelming love for Yeshua. We are excited and blessed to be part of this movement that God is ushering forth in India.
In 2011, Rabbi Greg and others from Beth Yeshua International (BYI) traveled to India to dedicate the new ministry center building which houses Hope School and the sanctuary for CBY India. God has exploded this ministry to the point that hundreds of villages in southeast India are being ministered to through CBY India. Witin the 4 regions currently touched by Beth Yeshua India, we have 200 congregations under the umbrella of Beth Yeshua International, and 150+ pastors under our leadership who are ministering. To date the school has an enrollment of over 310 children, and growing, and 10,000+ new believers have been added to the Kingdom by God’s grace.
Beth Yeshua International has no administrative costs associated with helping this ministry to the poor, the widow, and the orphan. All donations go directly to CBY India.
If you wish to support CBY India, donations can be sent to Beth Yeshua International. Visit BYI’s giving page for more information.
